Description/Job Summary

Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for an Order Logistics Manager at its Alexander City, Alabama distribution facility. 

The Order Logistics Manager will be responsible for detailed shipping schedule and frequent updates to the DC Manager on the DC performance related to the required schedule. This position supports and manages new customer initiative requests, the daily operation of account inquiries and responses, information flow to DC Operations, and order management procedures. The Order Logistics Manager will develop tools and processes that support the management of orders/services, shipping schedule, measurement in departmental goals & initiatives and encourages employee engagement.

 

Responsibilities/Duties

Partners with DC Operations and Corporate Customer Service to oversee wave processing and shipping schedules for the DC. Manages and resolves aged orders to minimum impact to customers. Provides detailed planning and analysis related to orders and shipping schedules.

Facilitates communication between the DC Operations and Corporate Customer Service regarding orders, rollouts and other programs/initiatives affecting the DC. Partners with DC Operations to address and resolve daily operational issues.

Develops and manages process improvement initiatives related to order and customer service processes. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure identified improvements are implemented and sustained.

Provides leadership and managerial support to Office Manager and staff.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY (Indicate the performance measurements that judge the accountability of the position, e.g. revenue $'s, inventory, budget, payroll, capital expenditures and equipment, number of locations, employees, project costs, etc.):

Responsible for the shipping scheduling and order processing functions of a multi-million dollar distribution center.

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY (Describe the most significant decisions made, the freedom to take action and the authority permitted):

Oversees shipping schedule and wave processing based on orders received, inventory levels and shipping priorities.

PROBLEM SOLVING (Describe the most difficult type of problems or major challenges encountered when performing this job):

Supports the efficient operation of the DC through the order processing and scheduling processes. This includes addressing complex issues related to high priority tasks, customer orders, deliveries, and inventory management.

 

Required Experience

Minimum of 5 years of Operations, Customer Service or related experience, with leadership/personnel management experience

Proficiency of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated strong leadership, analytical and process improvement skills

Preferred Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree in related area preferred
